Restorative Chiropractic Care for Kerrisdale and the Westside

Restorative chiropractic care is the longer view of what we do at Jassal Chiropractic. Instead of a single visit or a brief run of them, it is a plan that unfolds over weeks and months, with time built in to check how your spine and nervous system are responding. Dr. Jassal has been seeing families in Vancouver for over 13 years, and the same patience carries over to adults: gentle, specific, and unhurried.

What Restorative Care Works Toward

Every plan is written for the person receiving it, and most share the same four aims:

  • Restoring movement in spinal joints that have lost some of their motion
  • Easing the strain on your nervous system so it can communicate with less in the way
  • Building your body’s capacity to handle the physical and everyday stresses you face
  • Keeping the progress you make, with a plan you understand and agree to

Why Longer-Term Care Makes Sense

Think about a sprained ankle. Rest settles the first stage, but the ankle is not really back until you have rebuilt its strength and balance. Your spine and nervous system work in a similar way. A first round of visits can ease the load on your body, and restorative care carries on from there so the change has time to settle in. We cannot promise how your body will respond, but we can give it steady, well-timed support.

More Than a Quick Fix

A short course of care has its place, and many patients begin that way. Restorative care asks a different question: what does your body need to carry on well a year from now? We believe the body heals itself, so our part is to find where interference has built up, remove it with the lightest touch that works, and then step back. Most of the real work happens between visits.

Torque Release Technique and the Integrator

Many adjustments here use Torque Release Technique. The Integrator, a small handheld instrument, gives one quick, gentle impulse at a chosen point on the spine. The body is not twisted and no force is applied, so the experience is suitable for patients from infants to seniors and for anyone who feels uneasy about being adjusted.

Scans That Track Your Progress

Over a longer plan, numbers matter as much as conversation. Our scans give us a starting point and let us compare it with later results. You can read more on our facilities and equipment page, and here is what each one does:

  • sEMG Asymmetry Scan: compares muscle activity on the left and right sides of your spine.
  • sEMG Amplitude Scan: shows how your spinal muscles respond to the signals they receive from your nerves.
  • EMG Rolling Thermal Scan: reads skin temperature along the spine, which our doctors weigh as one sign of nervous system stress.
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV): offers a window into how your body copes with stress and recovers from it.

Digital x-rays are taken only when our doctors decide they will help. Our system uses less radiation than older machines, and a standing image shows how your spine sits under your own weight.

How a Restorative Plan Unfolds

Plans differ, but they tend to move through three stages:

  • Getting started: visits are closer together while we build a clear picture of how your spine and nervous system are working.
  • Building: as things settle, we space visits further apart and re-examine you at set points to see what has changed.
  • Keeping it going: visits become less frequent and shift toward looking after what you have gained.

At each stage we explain what we are seeing and what we suggest next. The pace is yours to set.

What Happens at Your First Visit

Your first appointment begins with your story: your health history, your week, and what you would like to do with more ease. After that we study your posture, test how your spine moves, and review your scans. Before any care starts, you will hear what we found and what we recommend, in plain language.

Daily Habits That Support a Longer Plan

Small changes between visits help your care hold. Raise your phone or tablet to eye level, use a kneeling pad when you work in the garden, and turn your shoulders and hips together when you back out of a driveway. Drink water through the day and keep moving. We keep our suggestions short and tailored to your routine.

Care for the Whole Family

Many Kerrisdale households span several generations, and each person has different needs: a teenager carrying a heavy backpack, a parent who spends the week driving and lifting, a grandparent who wants to stay on their feet. Parents are welcome to book their children’s visits alongside their own, and our pediatric chiropractic care page explains what those visits involve.
