Restorative Chiropractic Care for Renfrew Heights

Patients from Renfrew Heights come to Jassal Chiropractic when they want more than a short course of visits. Restorative chiropractic care is the longer plan: gentle, specific care spread over weeks and months, with regular check-ins on how your spine and nervous system are doing. Dr. Jassal has been seeing families in Vancouver for over 13 years, and that patience runs through care at every age.

Building Capacity and Momentum

The goal is not to cut down the stresses in your life. The goal is to build your body’s capacity to handle them. Momentum matters here too. A body that starts moving better tends to keep moving better, and regular visits help that early progress carry forward instead of fading between appointments. We cannot predict how any one person will respond, so we measure as we go and share what we see.

Tuning, Not a One-Time Fix

Picture your nervous system as a guitar string. Pulled too tight, the body stays in stress mode, and too loose, the signals weaken. A guitar tuned once will drift, and so will a body that keeps meeting the demands of work, family, and travel. Restorative care helps you find the tuning, then checks it again as your life changes.

What Restorative Care Is Working Toward

No two plans look alike, but the goals are consistent:

  • Helping the joints of your spine move the way they should
  • Giving your nervous system fewer obstacles between your brain and the rest of your body
  • Raising your capacity to handle stress, whatever its source
  • Making the gains last by pacing care to suit you

Torque Release Technique and the Integrator

Our adjustments often use Torque Release Technique and a handheld instrument called the Integrator. It delivers one brief, light impulse at a specific spot on the spine. Nothing twists and nothing presses hard, which makes it comfortable for people who are sensitive or nervous about being adjusted.

Scans That Show Where You Stand

A longer plan needs reference points. Our scans create them, and we repeat them at planned intervals. Our facilities and equipment page has more detail, and these are the scans in brief:

  • sEMG Asymmetry Scan: highlights differences in muscle activity between the two sides of your back.
  • sEMG Amplitude Scan: gauges how well the muscles around your spine answer nerve signals.
  • EMG Rolling Thermal Scan: maps temperature changes down the spine, a clue our doctors consider when assessing nervous system stress.
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV): reflects how your body adapts to stress and bounces back.

The doctors order digital x-rays only when they believe an image will help. The system exposes you to less radiation than older equipment, and standing images show your alignment under your own weight.

How Your Plan Takes Shape

Most plans pass through three phases:

  • Early visits: closer together, while we learn how your spine and nervous system are working.
  • Middle visits: spaced out as you progress, with a re-examination at planned points to compare against where we started.
  • Ongoing visits: less often, aimed at looking after what you have built.

We review the plan with you at each step and adjust it when your needs change.

Your First Visit

We start with a conversation about your health, your routine, and where you would like to be in six months. Then we assess your posture, test the movement of your spine, and go over your scans. You will know what we found, and what we suggest, before any care begins.

Habits for Commutes and Long Shifts

Between visits, small habits protect your progress. Stand tall on the train platform with weight on both feet, set your car seat so your head sits over your shoulders, and take a few minutes each day to stretch. Carry bags close to your body and split heavy loads between both hands. We tailor this advice to your day and keep it short.

Care for Every Generation

Families around Renfrew Heights span many backgrounds and several generations, and our clinic is built to welcome all of them. Everyone from infants to seniors is welcome, and each plan is written around the person receiving it. Our pediatric chiropractic care page covers what children’s visits look like.

Renfrew Heights lies in East Vancouver, within Renfrew-Collingwood. After the Second World War a hillside here was cleared for the Renfrew Heights Housing Project for War Veterans, with rows of small bungalows.

The project’s street names remember the war. Dieppe Drive honours the Canadians lost in the Raid on Dieppe, and Normandy Drive commemorates the Battle of Normandy. Veterans Affairs Canada records that both were named on March 23, 1948.
