Join the Shanti Uganda Society for a film screening and maternal health panel discussion on global maternal health issues! A fundraising event for Shanti Uganda’s Maternal Health programs in Uganda, this event will feature the film, Freedom For Birth – A campaigning documentary about Human Rights in childbirth abuses featuring over 40 of the world’s leading birth experts, academics, lawyers, doctors, midwives, doulas, parents and campaigners – all calling for change to the world’s maternity systems.
In addition to the film screening, there will also be a panel discussion featuring maternal health experts from Canada and the US, a silent auction and an opportunity to learn more about The Shanti Uganda Society. Confirmed panelists include Jane Claxton Drichta, Martha Roberts, Gloria Lemay and Debra Samadhi Woods
This promises to be an exciting event gathering parents, birth experts, doulas and midwives in discussion and celebration of the vital maternal health services provided at the Shanti Uganda Birth House as well as the important work being done by our diverse selection of panelists.
